Sweet and Spicy Shrimp

This recipe is a popular Chinese recipe. Making it at home was a pleasure for me and my family who loves Chinese.

Main ingredients: shrimp, soy sauce, peppers
Time of preparation: 30 minutes
Time of cooking: 15 minutes
Serving: 4

Ingredients
500 g shrimp, medium size, peeled
2 onions, small size, finely chopped
1 carrot, medium size, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, small size
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp red pepper, grated
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp corn flour

Directions
1. In a plastic bowl mix soy sauce, ½ tbsp oil, sugar, red pepper and corn flour. Stir until corn flour is well dissolved. Set aside.

2. Wash shrimp well, drain and set aside.

3. Slice green pepper and cut rings into halves.

4. In wok heat remaining oil, add onions, green pepper and carrot for 2-3 minutes until crispy- tender.

5. Add soy sauce mixture and shrimp. Stir-fry for 5-8 minutes until shrimp turn pink and sauce becomes thick.
